                           This site is devoted to research and the sharing of 
                       information about the Hooked Mats and other 
                       Industrial products of the Grenfell Mission. 

                       The Grenfell Mission was a medical mission active 
                       in Newfoundland and Labrador in the first half of 
                       the 20th century.  Wilfred Grenfell established a
                       cottage industry known as the Industrial which 
                       produced the now well-known hooked mats and
                       other Industrial products.
